My name is Eszter, I am the pastry chef behind Shutishuti Patisserie, a micro bakery based in York. I bake for bespoke orders, teach patisserie classes, appear at markets, food festivals and cater for events. My patisserie focuses on seasonality and local produce, creating desserts around them. I cook in collaboration with Food Circle York and Kiosk, where I also have a regular monthly pop-up shop.
I won Gold Prize at Callebaut “Make it Special” competition 2017. I was was mentioned in the Guardian. The Alt city guide to York. 2017 Callebaut’s Make It Special competition Gold Prize winner, 2017 article. I was featured in Nouse, 2016 (article) and in Cornwall Today, Oct 2014, in the print version.
I studied fine art in Budapest and London, worked as an artist assistant before starting my business as a market stall in Cornwall in 2014. I held positions at busy bakery cafes as a baker, was chef de partie in hotels and fine dining restaurants. I am aspiring to open my own shop one day.
The name “shutishuti” comes from the Hungarian word “süti” which is short for cake.
